How to get to Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audubon Center

Office Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Please call to confirm hours before visiting, as we are sometimes offsite.

Trails & Gardens: Open daily, sunrise to sunset

Center Hours (As of April 2024) 

  • Wednesday – Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Our Visitor Center will be closed on the following dates in 2024:

  • July 4
  • September 2
  • October 14
  • November 11, 28 – 29
  • December 25 – 31

Driving directions:

By Long Island Expressway: 
Take Exit 41N, Route 106. Take 106 North to the village of Oyster Bay. Make a right onto East Main Street. Go 1.5 miles up East Main Street and you will see signs for the Sanctuary parking lot, shared with Youngs Memorial Cemetery. The parking lot is to your right.

By 25A: 
Take 25A to Cove Road. Go 2 miles north on Cove Road. You will see a sign on your right pointing to the Sanctuary parking lot, shared with the Young's Memorial Cemetery, on your left.

Parking: Free parking is located at a shared gravel lot with Youngs Memorial Cemetery, just past the Sanctuary on the left if coming from 25A or just before it on the right if coming from East Main Street. From the parking lot, follow the sidewalk past the cemetery gates to reach the Sanctuary gardens and trails.

Two accessible parking spots are available next to the visitor center. To access, follow the driveway next to the visitor center.
